Managing a team with multiple Ethnic & Cultural backgrounds could be a huge challenge. In my opinion managing such team we need to build high standard of trust with clear goals and objectives.

If you look to the positive aspect to have multi cultural and nationalities teamwork it will be value added and strength to your team. You just need to be able to understand the individuals' differences and see cross cultures.

As you mentioned it's sometimes not easy , I covert them into an all-American team and it's work for me

The more the multicultural and diverse environment at work is the more creative and productive it should be. In the event that the cultures and traditions get in the way then it would be best to leave that at the door and establish some kind of policy at work that brings people together on one common ground and that should be to complete a project or whatever the task is. I also tend to believe that religious differences also can be stressful and that should be kept to oneself. I don't think knowledge in every culture is needed when the job is strictly project management or computer programming. Job process and job expectations should be clear upon hiring to avoid any conflicts or misunderstanding. This would be the most modern way of dealing with diverse situations and subordinates who do not get along.

It doesn't matter if a Team is Multi Naltionalist or Multi Cultured... for an effective Team Management the Team Leader should follow the "WE" rule. i.e the word "I" should be changed to "WE". The Team members should ne well versed with the do and don't's of the process. They should understand theirs KRA's and shuold know how to achieve it.

Finally, a highly motivated Team Leasder knows how to lead a Team.

I've worked with a diverse group of people throughout my career and have found multinational teams that work best are ones that encourage curiosity. An environment where people feel free to ask questions about culture and to share their traditions and food help build a network of individuals that do not feel threatened to change their way of living in order to contribute with value. We are all different and yet the same. Respect for our teams grow from respect of the individual.
